Mary Kennedy Abuse: RFK Jr. Calls Mary Kennedy Abusive---Mary Kennedy & Abuse, Before Mary Richardson Kennedy killed herself at the family’s estate in New York last month, she made multiple suicide threats, according to an extensive examination of her troubled relationship with husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Mary Kennedy also drank heavily and repeatedly abused her husband and his children from his first marriage — particularly Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy — according to an examination of a sealed, 60-page affidavit filed by Robert during their divorce proceedings and examined by The Daily Beast.
“Mary’s violence and physical abuse toward me began before we were married,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in the affidavit — sworn on Sept. 16, 2011 and filed in New York Supreme Court in Westchester County.
“Soon after Mary became pregnant with our first son, Mary, in a sudden rage about my continued friendship with [my ex-wife] Emily, hit me in the face with her fist,” he said.
There were several other physical altercations between the couple during their marriage, the affidavit details, and Mary would often threaten to kill herself after they were separated.
On May 26, 2011, Mary ran over and killed their dog in the driveway and told Robert she would end her life if he didn’t call off the divorce.
Although Mary became close friends with Kerry Kennedy when they roomed together at the Putney School in Vermont, she initially wasn’t interested in Kerry’s brother, Robert, believing he wasn’t urbane enough.
But in 1993, when he was still married to his first wife Emily, Mary and Robert began fooling around with each other.
But soon trouble began, as Mary would go into an altered state during the evenings, Robert said in the affidavit.
“Her features would change with her jaw set forward, her face paled, her eyes notably darkened, her voice alternatively breathy or hard. Mary’s mood vacillated between rage and self-pity. Her behavior often became violent and destructive.”
