Guns N' Roses threaten to storm off O2 Arena---Guns N’ Roses Threaten To Storm Off O2 Arena, While Guns N’ Roses opened their UK and Ireland tour thanking fans for not “throwing sh*t” at them, there was a marked reversal of fortunes as they closed the jaunt in London last night (June 1) – where they threatened to end the gig prematurely after being pelted with money and pint glasses.

Bassist Tommy Stinson told the crowd at the O2 Arena that they would throw the towel in if fans continued to shower the stage, commenting:

“If you throw any fucking thing on stage, we’ll go home”. Frontman Axl Rose, who again took regular breaks to visit an oxygen tent during the gig, added that Stinson was “laying down the law” after making the threat.

As has been the case throughout the tour, the band were once again late onstage – by 50 minutes rather than the hour an a half they were delayed by the previous night (May 31), meaning their 33-song set didn’t finish up until 2am.

The venue pre-empted the band’s tardiness with announcements being made that extra transport would be made available in the event of a late finish. In any case, a large number of fans left the arena around midnight – two hours before the close of the set. Once again, there was a notable lack of fans wearing Slash T-shirts in the venue.

As reported by NME yesterday, fans turning out for Thursday’s gig wearing clothes bearing the image of the band’s former guitarist were turned away by security – and were only allowed in after removing the offending item of clothing.

Last night’s set also differed slightly to the previous night’s show, with the band opting for AC/DC cover ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ instead of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Dead Flowers’ and playing ‘Madagascar’, ‘Shackler’s Revenge’ and ‘Patience’ during the encore.
