Axl Rose Bans Slash Shirts, Axl Rose robbed---Looks like Guns N’ Roses fans have another story to add to the infamous rivalry between Slash and Axl Rose. Though this falls somewhere in between difficult and impossible to enforce, Axl has banned GN’R fans from wearing Slash t-shirts to their concerts.

On May 31 at the Guns N’ Roses show at London’s O2 Arena, a 18-year old fan named James Revell could be seen bare chested underneath his jacket because he was forced to remove his Slash shirt.

When Revell talked to NME, he said, ”I felt very angry because I was looking after my little brother at the time and felt as though my freedom to wear what I want had been taken away from me, however I did not react angrily as I didn’t want to spoil the show for him.”

On top of that, the poor James Revell only got to catch three songs by GN’R because they took the stage so late. Revell added:

“I have never experienced anything as insulting as that at a concert before and I had to sit there in my little brothers jumper and wait for Axl to turn up well over an hour late, which we could only stay to watch 3 songs as we had to catch a train back.

I think that Axl Rose doesn’t appreciate his fans or anyone for that matter, he needs to grow up and stop acting like a child.”

This story highlights not only the evident split between the old GN’R and the new, but also Axl’s stubbornness getting in the way of fans enjoying themselves at GN’R concerts. If the band is going to continue selling out concerts, it appears that they are going to have to more comfortably sever ties from their past in a way that doesn’t alienate their fans.
