Kevin Smith Kicked Off Plane For Being Too Fat, Comic Book Men, Green Hornet, Comic book writer---Director and actor Kevin Smith wasn’t silent when he was kicked off a Southwest airplane, because he was deemed too fat by the pilot.

The 39-year-old voiced his outrage via a string of Twitter posts when he was asked to disembark from his flight from Oakland to Burbank after the pilot deemed him a “safety risk”.

This prompted the Clerks and Mall Rats actor to post a series of updates to his more than 1.6 million followers on Twitter.

“I know I’m fat, but was Captain Leysath really justified in throwing me off a flight for which I was already seated?” he said. “Again: I’m way fat… But I’m not THERE just yet. But if I am, why wait til my bag is up, and I’m seated WITH ARM RESTS DOWN. In front of a packed plane with a bunch of folks who’d already I.d.ed me as ‘Silent Bob’,” he continued.

After getting off the plane, Kevin was offered a $100 voucher by way of apology, but he refused. He got on another flight but was less than happy. He even posted a picture of himself once seated, with his cheeks puffed up saying: “Look how fat I am on your plane! Quick! Throw me off!”

Kevin’s other posts included: “Thank God I don’t embarrass easily (bless you, JERSEY GIRL training). But I don’t sulk off either: so everyday, some new f**k-you Tweets for @SouthwestAir.” And: “The @SouthwestAir Diet. How it works: you’re publicly shamed into a slimmer figure. Crying the weight right off has never been easier!”

After he landed, he posted: “I’ve landed in Burbank. Don’t worry: wall of the plane was opened & I was airlifted out while Richard Simmons supervised.”

Southwest Airlines did however eventually apologized to Kevin via Twitter, but also blogged a longer statement explaining that the actor/director usually buys two tickets when he flies with their airline.
