Bride Found Dead In Bathtub---Bride found dead in bathtub: woman in a wedding dress was found apparently stabbed to death in a bathtub in a Burbank, Ill., apartment, just days after her wedding, officials said. Estrella Carrera, 26, was found at about 3: 30 p.m. Sunday, police said.
An autopsy Monday determined she died of multiple stab wounds, and her death has been classified as a homicide, Burbank police said in a statement. Police believe she was killed as a result of a domestic-related incident.
Carrera’s body was discovered after her sister became alarmed when she could not contact the woman after she failed to pick up her two children who were in the care of relatives.
Carrera’s sister called police to check the home, officials said. On Friday, the woman was quickly married to the father of her youngest child, said her cousin Sandy Lopez.
Carrera called her Friday to invite her to a party but didn’t mention that it was a wedding party.
Carrera and her husband had been together in an on-and-off relationship for about three years, Lopez said.
The woman had a daughter, 9, and a son, 2, Lopez said. Police released few details but said the death was being investigated by the major crimes task force.
