 Zara Phillips Wedding
Zara Phillips wedding- Just three months after Prince William and Kate said "I do" at Westminster Abbey, the Duke of Cambridge's cousin,Zara Phillips, also did the same yesterday. Royal Princess Zara Phillips, 30, had done her own royal wedding rehearsal on Friday with Mike Tindall, a 32-year-old Rugby player,at Canongate Kirk church. The accomplished equestrian looked laid-back and happy as she left the church. Their official wedding was held on 30 July 2011 in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Canongate Kirk which is decked out with white roses and beech tree branches. The couple chose a church as far from Westminster Abbey and Canongate Kirk is a small Church of Scotland venue where the Queen worships when she stays in Edinburgh.
William, Kate and also Princesses Beatric, Eugenie all arrived to Edinburgh around the time of the rehearsal on Friday. Zara's mother Princess Anne was in attendance Friday at the wedding rehearsal.
On Friday night, the wedding party was celebrateed aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia for the reception before the wedding. It was Zara`s wish to have the reception on the old Britannia in the wedding`s eve because she has many beautiful memories from the royal yacht. At the cocktail reception there are expected around 150 guests.
Zara Anne Elizabeth Phillips was born on 15 May 1981. She is the second child and only daughter of The Princess Royal Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips and is thirteenth in the line of succession to the throne. She doesn't have a royal title at her mother's request. She is married to England rugby union player Mike Tindall, but has elected to keep her maiden name for professional reasons. An equestrian, Phillips is the former Eventing World Champion who won the World Championship in Aachen and was voted 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year that year by the British viewing public.
Phillips’ wore an ivory silk and duchess satin gown by Stewart Parvin, as well as Jimmy Choo shoes and a tiara. While Zara, who arrived at 3:05pm, donned a gown designed by one of her grandmother's favourite couturiers, Stewart Parvin. The UK designer creates outfits for the Queen and in 2007 was awarded the Royal Warrant of Appointment.
Unlike her cousin's wedding, there will be no cameras inside the church and no order of service will be published. In fact, police state that they're considering the ceremony a wedding between two sportspeople rather than the 13th in line to the throne and her groom.Police predict that there will be room for only 1,500 onlookers on the narrow Royal Mile to catch a glimpse of couple and more likely of Kate Middleton. This is the second royal wedding of 2011. But it did not get as much attention as Wills and Kate's wedding. That's just how the bride and groom want it. But crowds attended the event with equal enthusiasm.
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, attended the wedding arriving in a black Jaguar together. The loudest cheers were saved for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Other members of the Royal family arrived from the nearby Palace of Holyroodhouse, one of Queen Elizabeth's official residences. Among the guests were the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Duke of York and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Zara's godfather, the former Formula One racing champion Sir Jackie Stewart, and Una Healy, a member of girl group The Saturdays.
he wedding reception is being held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s residence, which is close to the church. It will cost approximately $800,000 to police the royal day, with marksmen being positioned around the locations to ensure the safety of the high profile royal guests.
After the wedding, the bride and groom won't take up residence in a London palace like Wills and Kate, who recently moved into a wing of Kensington Palace. Instead, they will return to their small but perfectly formed country estate where, instead of a honeymoon, Zara will spend time with her seven horses while Mike gets back to training. Tindall himself said that after the wedding, the couple will not be able to have a honeymoon because he and Zara are very busy and have lots of commitments the next period of time.
Zara and Mike were first introduced by Harry in Australia in 2003, not long after Zara had split from her former fiancé, jockey Richard Johnson. The couple have shunned royal 'hot spots' like Mahiki in favour of low key pubs near their home in Gloucestershire. There, Zara and Mike have lived a very normal life, or as normal as it can be when your grandmother is the queen.
England team`s captain also known as “The Fridge” is usually on command, but we can`t say the same when it comes to the wedding and to his relationship with the Queen`s granddaughter. But although Zara takes the decisions in their relationship, Tindall refused to take her and her mother`s advice and to get a nose operation before the wedding.
Also Zara and Mike had bought a new £800,000 home together before their marriage. They bought the five-bedroom mansion in Gloucestershire in April and have spent £250,000 renovating it.The three-storey Georgian house has a large country kitchen and garden - but no stables for Zara's 14 horses. The couple had been living rent-free in a two-bedroom cottage on Princess Anne's estate for almost three years.
