B. proved that she is, in fact, one of the many 'Independent Women' out there when she split from Destiny's Child and went on to launch a super successful solo career. And with the new focus all on her came a new, sexed up look with tousled bedhead hair and bronzed make-up.

Beyoncé officially became hip hop royalty in 2008 when she married boyfriend and rap superstar, Jay-Z. After getting him to 'put a ring on it' B. hit the red carpet looking gorgeous with glammed up curls and soft, neutral make-up that highlighted her natural beauty.

No longer a single lady Beyoncé showed off her inner '50s housewife with this chic beehive 'do. In 2008 she also followed up her first solo album, B'Day with her sophomore album, I Am...Sasha Fierce.
