eBay Bans Sale Curses Spells Hexes---eBay magic potions, Magic potions banned on eBay: WEB-SAVVY witches and warlocks will need a new online outlet with eBay set to ban the sale of hexes, curses, spells and potions.

The popular online auction website is discontinuing sales in its metaphysical subcategory as transactions “often result in issues that can be difficult to resolve,” eBay said in a statement on its website.

So spells, curses, hexes, conjuring, magic, prayers, blessing services, magic potions and healing sessions are among the items that cannot be sold on the site. Revenge potions, spells to bring back ex-lovers, curses for mother-in-laws and psychic readings will also need to find a new digital Diagon Alley.

But it’s not all bad news, eBay will allow the sale of some magic-related items that have a “tangible value”, though no word yet on whether this includes voodoo dolls.

“It’s important to note that items that have a tangible value for the item itself and may also be used in metaphysical rites and practices [i.e. jewellery, crystals, incense, candles, and books] are allowed in most cases,” eBay spokesperson Johnna Hoff told the Los Angeles Times.
