The Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island set for July 4, we take a look at some of the most impressive eating records on file at the Major League Eating website. Prepare to be amazed — and probably a little disgusted.
Hot dogs
Joey Chestnut is America's pride and joy, holding the record in 25 different Major League Eating contests, including the world-renowned Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island. In 2009, Chestnut wolfed his way into history with a record that still stands, but in 2011 Takeru Kobayashi scarfed down one more hot dog than Chestnut in an unofficial simulcast. Joey Chestnut ate 68 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, Joey Chestnut Hot Dog.
Brats
Japan's Takeru Kobayashi is one of the most recognizable sports icons of the 21st century after winning the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest six years in a row. It was considered his contest until Joey Chestnut came along and won in 2007 to end his run. Kobayashi became the current Major League Eating record holder for brats on Aug. 5, 2006. On July 4, 2011, Kobayashi scarfed down enough hot dogs in a simulcast event that beat Joey Chestnut's record. Since it wasn't under the Major League Eating banner, Chestnut's record still stands. Takeru kobayashi ate 58 Johnsonville brats in 10 minutes, Takeru Kobayashi 69 Hot Dogs.

Pizza
When it comes to pizza, size matters. Richard LeFevre, a retired CPA, holds the record for a 24-incher. Baked beans
This one is sure to gross you out. Don Lerman managed to swallow a whole lot of baked beans to take the world record. Blueberry pie
Not your mama's blueberry pie-eating contest. We're talking about the kind where you can't use your hands.
