35 guns Hoodstarz and Wave Gang---On January 17 and 18, New York police had arrested 43 memebers of the Wave Gand and rival Hoodstars, with a total of 35 guns.The gang members, ages 15 to 21. and about 25 accused members were of the Wave Gang and 18 accused members were of rival Hoodstarz who have been terrorizing streets in Brooklyn with shootouts that led to the killing of three people and wounding of several others.
The gang were watched and monitored for over a year while they continued to terrorise Brooklyn neighbourhoods.
The authorities said that the residents lived in fear of the gangs, because they would target rivals in public places.
The authorities also said thta the 43 feuding New York gang members were arrested on Thursday based on evidence collected from monitoring what they were saying about the cases on Twitter and Facebook.
The 43 gang members were indicted on Thursday on charges including murder, assault, reckless endangerment, robbery and weapon possession, with potential sentences ranging from a year to life in prison.
