Bridget Jones 3 director quits- Paul Feig has exited the production of Bridget Jones's Diary 3, it has been revealed. The American Bridesmaids director had completed a new draft for the film, but has now dropped out, according to Deadline.
Bill Gates on Steve Jobs- Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and longtime rival of Steve Jobs, has issued a statement expressing his sadness at the passing of Steve Jobs.
In it, Gates describes their relationship as one of "colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives."
American horror story- Veteran actress Jessica Lange will make her television series debut in "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy's latest project, "American Horror Story." Lange, 62, will play the role of nosy neighbor Constance, a Southern belle with a mysterious past in "American Horror Story," premiering on Wednesday on the FX network.

Denzel Washington Fordham University- (AP) Denzel Washington has donated $2.25 million to Fordham University, his alma mater. The university said Monday that Washington has given $2 million to endow the Denzel Washington Chair in Theatre, and another $250,000 to establish a scholarship for a minority undergraduate student studying theater at Fordham. Phylicia Rashad, who played Clair Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," has joined the school's faculty as the first Denzel Washington Chair in Theatre. Washington cited the late Bob Stone, who was a theater professor at Fordham, for inspiring him.

2011-12 NHL regular season start- More than 300 of the NHL's regular season contests will be televised by the League's national broadcast partners during the 2011-12 season. The League unveiled the national television schedule for the upcoming season Thursday, highlighted by the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere games and a Friday matinee on NBC the day after Thanksgiving. The defending champion Boston Bruins open the NHL season by welcoming Philadelphia to TD Garden on Oct. 6 on Versus, while CBC will broadcast Montreal at Toronto. Both networks have a doubleheader that night, with Pittsburgh at Vancouver acting as the nightcap for both.

Russian tablet rival ipad- A Russian state company plans to start mass production next year of cheap plastic-based tablet computers for school students which it says will rival Apple Inc's iPad.
Anatoly Chubais, an architect of Russian market reform and a head of technology conglomerate Rosnano, told Prime Minister Vladimir Putin the new computer would cost about $420 compared with $670 for the cheapest iPad.

Mom throws bible at son's girlfriend- A Florida, United States woman is facing battery charges after she allegedly hit her son's girlfriend with a Bible, woman injured bible steal mother's jewelry. Queen Elizabeth cutbacks lights material dress- Queen Elizabeth had one word for the display of royal bride Kate Middleton’s wedding dress at Buckingham Palace on Friday: “Horrible.” During a walk-through of the summer exhibition, which features the royal wedding gown, shoes, tiara, and even the couple’s multi-tiered cake, the queen examined the dress, which is shown in the dimly-lit ballroom, with the tiara and veil floating above it.
